Home Depot penny report: week of Sep 14–Sep 20, 2026
26 new items reached the penny list for the first time between Sep 14 and Sep 20. Outdoor, patio and garden accounted for the most new finds (7), ahead of lighting and electrical (6). The 20 new items with a known price add up to $1,765.65 at full retail, led by the Glacier Bay Bannister 37 in. W x 19 in. D x 35 in. H Single Sink Freestanding Bath Vanity in White with White Cultured Marble Top at $429.00. The fastest climber was RYOBI ONE+ HP 18V Brushless Bagless Cordless Pet Mesh Filter Stick Vacuum Cleaner (Tool Only), which went from 218 to 233 community reports over the week. We checked 8 register receipts for items on the list this week. New finds came from 21 states, most of all New York, Pennsylvania, Texas.
Editor's note
Ladders were the story of the week. The Werner 18 ft six-in-one multi-position ladder was receipt-confirmed more than once, including one receipt for seven units at $0.01, and finders noticed the Home Depot app flagging it as not available in store, which is typical of a SKU at the end of its markdown. The SKU first posted for it belonged to a different, 4 ft ladder; the barcode on a receipt pointed to the right one, a good reminder to check numbers against a receipt.
The Werner 26 ft five-in-one ladder was receipt-confirmed again on September 17. One finder described a long discussion at the register before the sale went through. Stores are not obligated to sell penny items, and walking away from a refusal is always the better move.
The Ryobi ONE+ HP pet stick vacuum kept climbing and was receipt-confirmed on September 17. That unit was on the regular shelf among the kit boxes rather than on a clearance endcap, so it pays to check the whole bay.

How these numbers are made: "new" means the first penny report for that SKU fell inside the week. Report counts are the community totals we record at each morning update. Items with a single uncorroborated report link to Home Depot rather than to a page of their own. See how the rankings work.
